The Sydney Tea Festival is a celebration of specialty loose leaf tea. Five years, 155 stallholders and 25,000 tea lovers later – the Sydney Tea Festival is back! Festival-goers will again be spoilt with a range of world-class loose-leaf teas, and a refreshed program. New festival features include The Tasting Table, where tea drinkers can participate in intimate group tastings with tea purveyors, and a tea and food pairing degustation dinner held at Automata in Chippendale, in honour of the festival’s 5th birthday. Wander through the Tea Market and discover some the best artisanal teas around, pick up some handmade teawares, grab a bite to eat, indulge in a sweet treat, and simply sit and enjoy a cup of tea in the brew lounge.
The tea market includes dozens of stallholders, from the boutique to the global. Specialty loose leaf tea and tisanes of all styles, ceramic artists and makers of beautiful teaware and artisan food purveyors and food trucks for something bigger to eat. There’s also a Brew Lounge where you can sit and enjoy a cup of ten and a DIY Tea Blending Station sponsored by Austral Herbs.
Sample tea from different stallholders all day with a porcelain tasting cup. A cup is included in the entry fee (valued at $5). Tickets will go on sale in June.
Immerse yourself in the world of tea with some of Australia’s leading tea specialists, as they host educational talks, tastings, demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Workshops cover a range of topics such as tea blending, tastings, preparation and tea ceremonies. The workshop program will be announced in July.
