Parramatta Park is hosting a free family festival during NAIDOC Week featuring performances from singer-songwriter Casey Donovan, Sydney-based musician Evie J Willie and Triple J's Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative winner Rebecca Hatch.
Everyone’s invited to the Pavilion Flat from midday where you’ll find an open corroboree sand circle that’ll host free dance and music performances, plus surrounding food stalls and a free barbecue.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is ‘Because of her, we can!’ You’ll be able to recognise the invaluable contribution Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made – and continue to make – to our communities, families and our culture in the performances, but also within the Aboriginal astronomy demonstrations, and the tours and talks too.
Stick around after sunset as there’ll be a spectacular fireworks finale.
